VELLORE: Deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Ambur sub-division, Philip Franklin Kennedy allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from an advocate to comply with the Madras high court's order. However, the police officer managed to escape after he came to know about a trap laid against him by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Wing (DVAC), Vellore, at his camp office in Ambur on Tuesday. A reliable source in the DVAC said S Dhakshnamoorthy, 52, a native of Vellore, purchased 2.48 acre of land in Agaramchari village in 2008.
